Highs and Lows of 80s Fashion

Hello!
There is a lot of controversy with fashion from the 1980s. Personally, I liked the fashion (unfortunately, I was not there for it), however, not every trend should be allowed back in 2018.

Starting off with a high, mesh tops are something that have been creeping into my wardrobe in 2018. I think they look great underneath t-shirts, they really add that little bit extra.

The next thing is a low: Shoulder pads. Although small pads can give a bit of structure and be flattering, the style in the 1980s is over the top (like most things in that decade) and can look too much.

High: These jeans have made a huge affect on today's fashion choices, these are 'Mom' jeans. We thank the 80s for these comfortable yet flattering jeans that can make our bums look great!

Low: Unfortunately shell suits had to be mentioned. Don't get me wrong, the top half paired with some skinny jeans can look good and vintage but the whole thing is NOT my style.
Shell Suit...the material made swishing noises when you moved, lol!

High: So bomber jackets have had a huge breakthrough 2016 however it has died down now, I still believe that bomber jackets are definitely a need for your wardrobe.
Can't go wrong with a blue bomber jacket and navy jeans. All I need in life.<3

Low: Like the shell suits, this is something that had to be mentioned. Leg warmers. Thankfully these are only used for ice skating these days.

High: Despite the legwarmers I actually believe that scrunch socks are something that's not too bad. This is a trend that hasn't made a return, however, I feel like these will become more popular in the next coming years.

Low: This is something you've got to be careful about: Double denim. This trend has recently come back but can rarely be pulled off well (with the exception of Gigi Hadid). So unless you are a professional, please don't try this at home.

High: Turtle necks are something that has never really gone out of style and when styled right, a turtle neck can make you look extra classy.

All of these are just my opinion, as long as you feel comfortable and confident then you can pull of anything. These pictures are not mine.
